If you use a scale because you sell products in bulk, you may want to subtract the weight of the packaging. The weight of the packaging is called tare. Most people use net tare on the packaging, i.e. the actual weight of the packaging. In Loomis—Pay, you can set up standard values ​​for tare to make it easy. For example, in a canteen, you put in the various plates or similar. The tare values ​​are common to all products, and the cashier will ask you for tare when you weigh the goods. This applies to all goods where you have selected Ask for quantity / weight.

To set up tare options in Loomis—Pay, log in to the administration panel and go to Product> Settings > Tare. Select "New tare". Give a name that your employees understand, and enter the weight. The weight must be stated in the same unit that you use for your products, e.g. in grams. For one of the values, you can choose to set the default to ON, this is often used if you have a clear excess weight of a package for the products you sell.
