What is the difference between cost price and purchase price?

In Loomis-Pay, a distinction is made between cost price and purchase price. Cost price and purchase price can be specified for goods and components.

  • Purchase price is the price you pay per new product you are going to purchase.

  • Cost price is the price you have paid per unit.

If you have bought 10 pieces for 100,- and 10 pieces for 200,-, the cost price is 150,- per piece. The cost price can be calculated automatically by entering the price you have paid per product at the same time as you register a goods receipt. It is the cost price that is used when Loomis-Pay calculates the gross profit in sales reports, the inventory value or moves goods between departments. The purchase price is used in purchase orders.

If you do not have an extended logistics solution, only the purchase price field is displayed in the administration, and functions as both purchase price and cost price.
